Personal Training

Thank you for making Logan Fitness your choice for personal training. You can be sure that proper form will be demonstrated and analyzed during every scheduled workout session. Our trainers will provide structured programming, knowledgeable instruction, and positive encouragement in order to assist you in reaching your fitness goals. Our goal is to provide our clients with exceptional service, safe and effective fitness programming and training, and continuous support. Our personal trainers will work with you to create specific goals and design a fitness workout that will both challenge and improve your fitness level.

Before beginning with any of these personal training options, Logan Fitness requires the completion of our personal training packet. These may be picked up at the fitness desk, or you may download a copy of the personal training packet.

Personal Training Packet

Please turn in completed personal training packets to the staff at the fitness desk. You may also e-mail a completed packet to loganfitness@jalc.edu. Once a completed packet has been turned in, Logan Fitness staff will contact you within 72 hours to arrange the scheduling of your appointment.

In addition to general personal training, the following specializations are currently available: aquatic personal training.

Fitness Assessment- $35
Body mass index (BMI), body fat percentage, cardiorespiratory test (VO2), muscle endurance test, and flexibility test.

8-Week Program- $35
8-week written program only. (No scheduled meetings with the trainer)

Specialization Training

1-on-1 Aquatic Fitness This 1-on-1 aquatic fitness experience is customized to meet your specific fitness level and goals. Imagine personal training, but in the water. This program is recommended for anyone who enjoys being in the water, has varying forms of arthritis, is pre- or post- physical therapy, or has a neuromusculoskeletal condition such as cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s disease, or multiple sclerosis.

Body Scans

Logan Fitness houses a Fit3D body scanner which provides 3D body images, body fat percentage, body shape rating, and precise body part measurements. Tracked over time, this data can be extremely useful in tracking progress and reaching fitness goals. Personal training clients can use the body scanner for free at the digression of their trainer. Body scans can also be purchased as stand-alone scans at the check-in desk without participating in our personal training program.

I’m Dion Beals, a personal trainer originally from Chicago, Illinois, and I’ve been helping people reach their fitness goals for the past four years. I’m passionate about training because I love watching people grow both physically and mentally. It’s incredibly fulfilling to see my clients transform, and the connections I’ve built with them over time are what I value most—these relationships often last a lifetime. For me, it’s not just about fitness; it’s about making a meaningful, lasting impact on people’s lives.

Christina Cannova

Christina Cannova

I’ve been instructing group fitness classes and personal training for over 20 years. During that time, I’ve helped many different people from different backgrounds learn how to become healthier and hopefully happier people. Helping people achieve their goals and grow more confident with themselves is what drives me to keep learning and bettering my practice. In my free time, I enjoy bicycling, hiking, playing golf, camping, and spending time with my four children and husband. I’m Corey DuBois, a Certified Personal Trainer and Bodybuilding Specialist, as well as a proud U.S. Army Veteran originally from Louisiana. My love for fitness goes beyond the workouts—I’m fascinated by the science behind training and how it can transform both the body and the mind. What drives me most is helping others. I’m passionate about guiding people to set meaningful goals, push past challenges, and achieve results they never thought possible. For me, fitness isn’t just about building strength—it’s about building confidence, discipline, and a lifestyle that lasts.

Luke Johnson

Luke Johnson is a Carterville High School graduate and current Southern Illinois University student, now beginning his work as a personal trainer at John A. Logan Fitness. His passion for training comes from one simple goal: helping others succeed.

Since 2019, Luke has trained under the mentorship of Jared Bullock of Foundry Athletics—a decorated bodybuilder and U.S. Special Forces veteran. Drawing from Foundry’s core values, Luke emphasizes building physical and mental strength, discipline, and resilience in a supportive community. As an athlete himself, Luke teaches clients not only how to train hard, but how to train smart. His mission is to provide structured programming, constructive feedback, and a growth-focused environment that instills the lifelong rewards of hard work and dedication.

Ethan Spencer

Ethan Spencer

Ethan Spencer is a recent graduate of Brigham Young University–Idaho, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology. Originally from Northwest Oregon, he has gained valuable experience through his studies and his work as a director and trainer at the BYU–Idaho Wellness Center. Ethan is passionate about creating and maintaining sustainable lifestyle changes that support long-term health and well-being. With Ethan, you’ll learn how to build habits that enhance your strength, fitness, and quality of life for years to come. His focus areas include general health, powerlifting, muscle building, functional fitness, and weight loss/body recomposition.

Cheryl Thomas

Cheryl Thomas is a recent retiree from John A. Logan College, having taught anatomy & physiology classes for many years. Cheryl loves to combine her knowledge of the human body with her passion for fitness. She is an avid runner, who likes to include strength training in her fitness routine. She believes fitness should be fun & challenging to encourage a lifelong love of physical activity. She enjoys working with people of all ages and fitness levels.

Qualifications: ACE Certified Personal Trainer, BS in Biology, MS in Biological Sciences, 20+ years of teaching experience in anatomy & physiology, Body Sculpt Instructor
