John A. Logan College will host its fourth annual Juneteenth Celebration on Wednesday, June 18, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the College campus.

July 23: 1:00 p.m. (check-in begins at 12:15 p.m.)

JALC Nursing Instructor Crystal Young received a heartfelt surprise Thursday — a scholarship created in her honor by two of her former students and their family. 💙
JALC Nursing Instructor Crystal Young thought the Marketing Department was just stopping by to take pictures for one of her classes Thursday morning... but instead, she was surprised with a scholarship announcement in her honor!
Former student and now RN Hannah Hooks, along with her father, retired ISP Lt. Michael Hooks, established the Crystal Young Nursing Scholarship to recognize the life-changing impact she’s had on her students. Alongside her during the surprise was another former student turned RN, Georgia Stroud.
This is the first time a scholarship been established in the name of a current JALC instructor.
Crystal`s encouragement, compassion, and mentorship will continue to shape the future for more nurses like them for years to come thanks to this scholarship.z

🫀 Our Cardiac Sonography students are looking for volunteers this summer to receive cardiac ultrasounds completely FREE and supervised by a credentialed sonographer!
✅ Must be 18 years or older
✅ Screenings take place at 1:00 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays
By volunteering, you’re helping ensure future cardiac sonographers are ready to care for hearts like yours! ❤️

⚠️ Thank you everyone for your interest in volunteering for our Cardiac Sonography Program, but we are at capacity for the summer semester at this time. We will have another opportunity for volunteers in the future.
