TRIO Program

The TRIO Program is a component of the Educational Opportunities Program (EOP) that is funded through the U.S. Department of Education. This program provides individual support to students who are low-income, first generation, and/or disabled, and who demonstrate academic potential.

The purpose of the TRIO program is to increase college retention and graduation rates for eligible students, and to foster a supportive climate.

Students may take advantage of:

  • professional mentoring
  • extra tutoring time
  • 24 hour online tutoring
  • College transfer assistance
  • financial aid assistance
  • fun cultural activities
  • career counseling
  • priority academic advisement
  • scholarship opportunities

Admission into the program is by application and students may apply anytime. Services will be provided as soon as a student is accepted into the program. Since TRIO is a federally funded program, services are provided at no cost to eligible students. If you have questions or would like to apply for admission, please contact the office at 618-985-3741, Ext. 8289 or click the link below to go to a TRIO application. Applications are also available in room C219.
