Admissions and Records

Any student who wishes to be considered a resident of District #530 and receive in-district tuition at John A Logan College must provide proof of residency by submitting one of the following documentation types mentioned below. If you have additional questions regarding your application for change of residency,  you may contact admissions@jalc.edu. The student will be notified of the residency decision by email after successful submission of this application.

Please check and attach a copy of one of the following documents as proof of residency: *

• Illinois driver’s license or state identification card
• Voter’s registration with an Illinois address in the John A. Logan College District.
• Proof of ownership and/or leased occupancy of a residence in the John A. Logan College District.
• Real estate tax statement for property with the John A. Logan College District #530.
• A bank or credit card statement*
• A Utility bill in the name of the student (electric, gas, water, telephone, cable)*
• Insurance card or billing statement*
• Paystub*
• Shelter residency documentation
• Installment loan documentation (car, boat, motorcycle, etc.)*
• Medical claim or statement of benefits* (from private insurance company or government agency)
• A final transcript from an in-district high school with a graduation date within the past three years.
• Letter from an in-district employer on company letterhead indicating employment of at least 35 hours per week for at least 30 days prior to the start of the semester. (must be updated each semester)

*Residency documentation must be dated within the last 90 days of submission.
