INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY |
IT Support Technician. This position requires a student who can work independently,without direct supervision and have a knowledge of computer hardware/software troubleshooting and repair Experience with A/V (audio/visual) equipment, such as projectors, document cameras, audio mixer systems are preferred, but not required. Ability to analyze and problem solve issues face to face and over the phone. Clearly report computer issues and solutions to users and/or help desk personnel. Must be able to clearly describe computer issues and solutions in writing for entry into work order tracking system. Specific duties include, but not limited to: Provide assistance with installation, troubleshooting, and removal of A/V and/or computing equipment. Assist I.T. staff with daily work order assignments, completion of work order records, monitoring computer labs, assist in helpdesk duties and other duties as assigned. Be able to follow directions and work independently on tasks and projects. Have the desire to learn new tasks that range from simple to complex. Dependable, prompt, and be a team player. MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK SOME EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS, IF NEEDED. |

PRESIDENT'S OFFICE |
Secretary. Make and distribute copies for the President, the office and Board of Trustees staff. Assist with faxes, opening mail, and obtaining supplies for office from stockroom. Cover phones for the office and, occasionally, for all the Administrative Building offices as needed. Light keyboarding. Assist with errands associated with various special events. Assist other offices in the Administration Building with duties similar to the above on an as needed basis, and other duties as assigned. FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE. |

STUDENT SUCCESS CENTER |
Peer Tutor for Math and Biology Help Room. Provide learning assistance to students experiencing difficulty with a class. Meet with assigned students on a regular basis. Maintain records of tutoring sessions. Have demonstrated knowledge of and competence in the courses you tutor (an A or B in the class), as well as good communication and interpersonal skills. MULTIPLE OPENINGS. FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE. |

STUDENT SUCCESS CENTER |
Office Assistant. This position answers the office telephone and schedules appointments for Disability Support Services, TRiO and Tutoring Center staff. Also provides assistance for DDS program by preparing letters for students, assists note takers and tutors with documentation and enters tutoring information into database. This position is responsible for copying and sending notes for students utilizing note taker services. They also schedule and prepare testing rooms and scan tests for students receiving this service. This position also schedules appointments for test readers and scribes. Assistance is provided to staff of the Student Success Center by copying materials, preparing packets, and providing information to students, as well as other duties related to special programs and events. |

TESTING SERVICES |
Secretary. Answer phones, fill out demographic information on students wanting to take Compass, answer questions regarding our Allied Health programs, make copies and file as needed, keep office area clean and tidy, assist with test preparation, design office bulletin board, assist students applying to take entrance exams for Allied Health program admission and other duties as assigned. MUST BE FEDERAL WORK-STUDY. AVAILABLE 11:30 - 1:30 MONDAY-FRIDAY, PLUS ADDITIONAL HOURS ARRANGED. |
FALL |
ADVISEMENT |
Secretary. The Student Worker's primary job duty is to answer the telephone and greet students in the Academic Advisement Office. It is also their responsibility to take pictures of new students for their John A. Logan College ID cards. Additional office duties including copying, posting information on bulletin boards and make appointments for the Academic Advisors. The student must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The position reports to the Director of Academic Advisement. |

ART ROOM |
Studio Monitor. Someone that is familiar with Art and the projects going on in the classroom. The monitor should be an art student or art major. Monitoring involves making sure that students working late are not alone, that students are properly using equipment and supplies, and to make sure that the studio is cleaned after use. MONDAY THRU THURSDAY 4:00 TO 7:00 AND FRIDAY 2:00 TO 6:00. |

CAREER SERVICES |
Secretary. Typing, filing, keep job list updated, put job list on bulletin boards on campus, copying, making Kuder and resume appointments, assisting students, reception, phones and running errands. MUST BE AVILABLE TO WORK A.M. |

CHEMISTRY |
Lab Assistant. Prepare and maintain reagents, equipment and supplies associated with labs. Prepare each laboratory experiment set-up and take down. Maintain the orderliness and cleanliness of the lab and lab preparation area. Maintain chemical hazard documentation and assist safety officer to enforce safety in lab. Be available to retain the laboratory assistant position during the summer semester (there is a possibility this position would continue into the next school year). Have satisfactorily completed the first year of college chemistry, including CHM 151 and/or CHM 152 at John A. Logan College. Be enrolled as a CHM 201 and CHM 2012 student during the year of employment as the laboratory assistant, if not already completed previously. Show a good understanding of the principles and procedures involved for the CHM 151/152 laboratory experiments. Be aware of the importance of safety consideration as they relate to laboratory management. Have exhibited an ability to do independent work responsibly and in a timely fashion. These qualifications are preferred, but less qualified candidates may be considered. |

HEATING AND AIR |
Lab Assistant. Student worker will be responsible for setting up HVAC equipment, tool shop organization and assisting students with tools and equipment during lab. SECOND YEAR STUDENT PREFERRED. FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE. |

LEARNING LAB |
Lab Assistant. Monitor test taking for lecture courses and online courses. Check in students for test taking. Use RegisterBlast to register walk-in students for testing and mark completed testers. Responsible for test received and picked up by faculty. Responsible for papers received and picked up by the students. Distribute DVDs, packet materials, and other course materials assigned by instructors. Filing, record keeping, sorting and storing of paperwork, DVDs, instructional objects and materials is essential. MONDAY TO TUESDAY: 7:30 A.M TO 6:00 P.M., WEDNESDAY TO THURSDAY: 7:30 A.M. TO 4:30 P.M. MUST BE FEDERAL WORK-STUDY. |

Office Assistant. This position will answer phones, take messages, sort and distribute mail, keep general office area clean and orderly, maintain materials and fill copy machines, keep Scantron forms counted and available for use, general coverage of the office, and other duties as assigned within the Learning Resources Center. Student should be familiar with D2L, preferably someone who has experience using D2L. MULTIPLE OPENINGS. |
