Assistant Softball Coach

Description:

The Assistant Softball Coach must commit to developing student-athletes on and off the field. This position requires a strong understanding of the game, excellent communication skills, and the ability to mentor and inspire young athletes. The Assistant Softball Coach will work closely with the Head Coach to implement training programs, develop game strategies, and promote a positive team culture.

Education & Experience Requirements
Education: High School Diploma
Experience: Softball coaching experience at any level or collegiate playing experience required
Education Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree
Experience Preferred: Two (2) years of college softball coaching experience

Essential Functions & Position Duties

  • Assist the head coach in all aspects of running the softball program with an emphasis on recruiting, scouting, and physical training
  • Assist student athletes with the timely completion of projects/assignments
  • Oversee student athlete progress in areas of strength and conditioning
  • Foster positive relationships with all athletics staff and serve as a role model to the student athletes
  • Assist in the development of strength and conditioning programs for athletes as instructed by the Head Softball Coach
  • Assist with athletics department fundraising

Non-essential functions of the position
Other duties as assigned by the Head Softball Coach and Athletic Director. Duties must be performed on the John A. Logan College campus or designated location.

Type of Position: Part-time; stipend

Hours: varied, dependent on practice and game schedule

 Salary: $20,000 stipend
