“I Am Logan” Employee Recognition Program

 

Celebrating the heart of our campus one nomination at a time.

The “I Am Logan” Employee Recognition Program honors faculty, staff, and student workers who exemplify John A. Logan College’s mission through kindness, care, service, and community engagement.

Program Purpose

To recognize and celebrate employees who enrich the lives of others through learning, support, and meaningful connections across our campus and community.

Program Goals

  1. Celebrate excellence and kindness among all employees
  2. Encourage peer and student appreciation that fosters a culture of gratitude.
  3. Promote connection and engagement by recognizing employees’ impact on others.
  4. Highlight Logan’s mission of enriching lives through learning and community engagement.

Who Can Be Nominated?

  • Full-time and part-time employees
  • Faculty
  • Staff
  • Student workers

Who Can Submit a Nomination?

  • Students
  • Parents/family members
  • Co-workers
  • Supervisors
  • Community partners

How to Submit a Nomination

  1. Complete the online nomination form (Microsoft Forms)
  2. Nominations are reviewed monthly by the Culture & Engagement Committee
  3. Honorees are announced monthly via email, digital signage, and social media

What Honorees Receive

Monthly honorees will receive:

  • Certificate
  • Small recognition gift
  • Featured story/spotlight across campus media

Eligibility Guidelines

  • Must be a current JALC employee or student worker
  • Can be selected as a monthly honoree once per academic semester
  • Supervisors may not nominate direct reports more than once per semester (to encourage broad recognition)

Selection Process

Nominations are reviewed using a rubric focused on:

  • Mission alignment
  • Impact
  • Kindness and care
  • Community engagement
  • Storytelling quality

As often as you like—nominations are reviewed monthly.

The Culture & Engagement Committee reviews nominations using a fair rubric focused on mission, impact, and kindness.

What do honorees receive?
A certificate, recognition gift, and public acknowledgment across campus media.

Can I nominate myself?
No—nominations must come from a student, colleague, or community partner.
