The John A. Logan College Nursing Club will host its annual “Not-So-Scary Trick or Treat” event on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the College’s main campus in Carterville. The family-friendly event will take place at the West Main Entrance, the Conference Center, Brewer Gymnasium, and Bechtel Community Health Education Complex.
Frank Henson’s journey proves that perseverance pays off. After multiple attempts and transportation challenges, he stayed focused on his goal and recently earned his Certified Nursing Assistant certificate.
At the pinning ceremony, Henson received the Chelsey McKinney Sunflower Award, created in memory of a former student who overcame obstacles to achieve her dream before her life was tragically cut short in a UTV accident. 🌻
His advice: “You can’t quit because life happens. You have to keep on. Don’t give up. There’s always a brighter day.”
