I chose JALC to pursue my educational career in elementary education because of the small class sizes, campus activities, and affordability!
I chose JALC because I wanted to have a smoother transition into the college life. Being able to go to a community college lets you explore your career options at a cheaper price. Community college saved a ton of stress, money, and risk!
I chose JALC because of the amazing people and the strong sense of community. The smaller class sizes let me build close relationships with my classmates and professors. It’s also affordable and close to home, which helps me stay connected with family and friends.
When Jason Smith first enrolled in college back in 2010, he admits he wasn’t ready. Life took him in other directions, and school was put on hold. Fast forward to today, Jason, now 42, is a Business Management student at John A. Logan College, working 50 to 60 hours a week, raising four children, and showing what determination truly looks like.

It’s officially Thanksgiving break for our students! There will be no classes next week.
Campus will be open November 24 and 25, but operations will be suspended Wednesday, November 26 through Friday, November 28. We’ll be back open at 8 a.m. on Monday, December 1.
Take this time to rest and recharge before finals. We’re grateful for each and every one of our students, faculty, and staff.

Our campus came together in a big way for Friendsgiving/Food Drive Sorting Day Wednesday.
We collected more than 1,300 items for the Illinois Community College Board’s Feed the Need Food Drive. Students and staff spent the morning sorting donations, sharing a meal, and having some fun along the way. It was the perfect way to kick off the season of giving. Seeing everyone pitch in and support our students and community made this day even more special.
Grateful for everyone who showed up, donated, and served. Vols helping Vols. This is the Logan way.
