My absolute favorite part of being a student at JALC was the friendly environment the staff and professors made on campus.
Because of JALC, I have grown into a more confident student, leader, and future nurse who is excited to make a difference.
The student organizations are the part of John A. that really boosted my confidence and made me get back into the swing of school.
Because of John A. Logan College, I feel like I have more of a family.
JALC has an incredibly supportive community and provides students with many opportunities for personal and professional growth.
John A. Logan College will host its Annual Juneteenth Celebration on Wednesday, June 17, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. in the College Conference Center. The free community event is open to the public and will feature live entertainment, educational activities, food, and family-friendly programming honoring the significance of Juneteenth.
The 2026 Illinois Community College Trustees Association (ICCTA) Annual Convention and Board of Representatives meeting was held June 5 and 6, at the Westin Chicago Lombard Hotel in Lombard, Illinois.
The convention highlights the accomplishments of the community college system, honors the 2025-2026 leadership, recognizes award scholarship nominees, and elects new officers.
JALC 2026 Outstanding Faculty Member Rebecca Corbit (pictured third from the left) was recognized along with other Outstanding Faculty members from throughout the state. In addition to Corbit, JALC Board Chair Aaron R. Smith (pictured on the far right) received a Trustee Education Award.

Even though the semester has wrapped up, we still want to spotlight the incredible work happening inside our classrooms at John A. Logan College 💙
Students in PSY-200 recently presented their semester-long social psychology research projects during a conference-style poster session. From social influence and media impact to relationships and attribution theory, students designed surveys, analyzed data, and shared their findings in a professional research setting.
