		🎃 STEM Day was a blast! More than 200 students from a dozen area schools spent the day exploring science, technology, engineering, and math through fun, hands-on activities on the JALC campus.
The JALC Foundation awarded three $3,000 STEM scholarships to:

🏆 Tyler Dodson, Herrin High School (Math Gauntlet Winner)
HUGE thanks to our Construction Management students for building the pumpkin catapults, our faculty and staff for leading interactive sessions, our student ambassadors, the high school students who attended, and everyone else who helped make the day a success! 💙

		The JALC team had a great time at the ROE Career Fair at the Pavilion in Marion on Wednesday.
More than 1,000 high school students from 21 area schools explored career and educational opportunities thoughout southern Illinois.
It was an inspiring day full of conversations and hands-on simulations and we can’t wait to see many of the students on our campus as Vols one day!

		Tuesday, we celebrated the dedication of the Dr. Marilyn Toliver Early Childhood Education Center at John A. Logan College.
Dr. Toliver was surrounded by her family, friends, and colleagues past and present as we honored her incredible impact on education.
The ceremony was filled with heartfelt words from those who spoke of Dr. Toliver not only as an extraordinary educator for more than three decades, but also a dear friend. Her influence is immeasurable, having taught hundreds of students who have gone on to lead thousands of children across southern Illinois and beyond.
Provost Dr. Stephanie Chaney Hartford shared a quote from Maya Angelou that perfectly captured her legacy: “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”
Thank you, Dr. Toliver, for your lasting legacy of compassion, excellence, and care for not just young learners, but for everyone around you. 💙
