I chose JALC to pursue my educational career in elementary education because of the small class sizes, campus activities, and affordability!
I chose JALC because I wanted to have a smoother transition into the college life. Being able to go to a community college lets you explore your career options at a cheaper price. Community college saved a ton of stress, money, and risk!
I chose JALC because of the amazing people and the strong sense of community. The smaller class sizes let me build close relationships with my classmates and professors. It’s also affordable and close to home, which helps me stay connected with family and friends.
John A. Logan College officials report a 4.2% increase in enrollment compared with spring 2025, along with a 1.6% increase in credit hours.

The John A. Logan College Nursing Program has received official notification from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation confirming exceptional licensure pass rates for 2025, far exceeding state and national averages.
✅ Practical Nursing: 100% pass rate
✅ Associate Degree Nursing: 98% pass rate
These results reflect the dedication of our faculty and the hard work of our students. We’re proud to prepare graduates who are ready to make a real impact in healthcare right here in our communities.
The JALC Nursing Department offers both full-time and part-time program options to meet students where they are. The deadline to apply for the Fall Nursing Program is March 2.

CTE Month Student Spotlight: Whitney York
Balancing full-time work, family and online coursework, Whitney York recently returned to John A. Logan College to finish what she started and move one step closer to opening her own daycare.
An Early Childhood Education student, Whitney is on track to graduate in May 2026 and credits the flexibility of online learning for helping her stay on course.

Three @jalc_loganfitness staff members were recognized this week for their quick thinking and teamwork that helped save a life.
When a patron collapsed during a workout, Corene Sizemore, Madison Calvin, and Kassie Teal jumped into action without hesitation. From calling 911 to using the AED and providing rescue breaths, they relied on their training and each other, and it made all the difference.
We’re proud of these amazing women and grateful for their professionalism, calm under pressure, and care for our campus community. Thank you for showing what teamwork truly looks like. 💪💙
