My absolute favorite part of being a student at JALC was the friendly environment the staff and professors made on campus.
Because of JALC, I have grown into a more confident student, leader, and future nurse who is excited to make a difference.
The student organizations are the part of John A. that really boosted my confidence and made me get back into the swing of school.

Student-athletes are back on the court at John A. Logan College after Brewer Gymnasium officially reopened following approval from structural engineers working with the Illinois Capital Development Board, marking another milestone in the college’s ongoing campus transformation.
Supporting our students means removing barriers.
John A. Logan College is proud to partner with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Illinois to offer a FREE after-school and evening program for the children of eligible JALC students beginning August 17 on campus.
The Community Impact Program will provide a safe, supportive place for children ages 6 to 18 while their parents attend classes, with homework help, STEM activities, arts, recreation, mentorship, and more, all at no cost to eligible families.
"This will be extremely beneficial to our students, particularly those in our evening nursing cohort who are trying to balance family and school," said JALC President Dr. Kirk Overstreet.
By removing one more barrier to earning a degree, we`re helping student parents stay focused on achieving their educational goals while their children learn, grow, and thrive.
Because when students succeed, families and communities grow stronger. 💙

For nearly 28 years, Nancy has been a familiar face at John A. Logan College. While her role has changed over the years, today you’ll find her making sure mail and packages reach every corner of campus while also managing the college’s inventory by logging and tagging new equipment.
Whether she’s walking across campus or making deliveries behind the wheel, Nancy is always on the move. She’s a beloved member of the JALC family whose hard work behind the scenes helps keep our campus running smoothly. She puts in the work every single day, and it never goes unnoticed. 💙

Welcome home, Vols! 💙
Brewer Gymnasium is officially back open, and our student-athletes are returning home just in time for fall practices.
While the gym is open, the athletic offices, lobby, restrooms, and concessions area remain closed as structural beam repairs continue.
The reopening is just one of many signs of progress across campus. From our new Career and Technical Education Center, Nursing facilities, Logan Hall and West Lobby expansion, and Hoffard Pond dredging project, we’re investing in the future of our students, workforce, and community.
Thank you to our students, employees, and community for your patience as we continue building an even stronger future for Logan. 💙

This time, we’re following Matt Ray, one of our dedicated grounds crew members, as he helps keep JALC looking its best. Whether it’s maintaining the grounds, caring for the landscape, preparing our baseball and softball fields, or tackling whatever the day brings, no two days are ever the same. Together, Matt and the rest of the grounds crew maintain 91 acres of mowable grounds, creating the beautiful and welcoming campus our students, employees, and visitors enjoy every day.
