My absolute favorite part of being a student at JALC was the friendly environment the staff and professors made on campus.
Because of JALC, I have grown into a more confident student, leader, and future nurse who is excited to make a difference.
The student organizations are the part of John A. that really boosted my confidence and made me get back into the swing of school.

Student-athletes are back on the court at John A. Logan College after Brewer Gymnasium officially reopened following approval from structural engineers working with the Illinois Capital Development Board, marking another milestone in the college’s ongoing campus transformation.

Students in our Automotive Services Technology (AST) program will be welcomed back this fall by 16 new, fully stocked GEARWRENCH toolboxes, purchased through Rev Up EV funding.
A big thank you to the teams from Auto Tire & Parts, NAPA Tools & Equipment, and GEARWRENCH for assembling every toolbox and getting everything ready for our students.
We can`t wait to see them put to work this fall! ๐

This week, JALC faculty, staff, and their families volunteered at the @nubabilityathletics camp, helping empower limb-different youth through sports.
We`re proud to support an incredible organization making a lasting impact right here in southern Illinois.

Supporting our students means removing barriers.
John A. Logan College is proud to partner with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Illinois to offer a FREE after-school and evening program for the children of eligible JALC students beginning August 17 on campus.
The Community Impact Program will provide a safe, supportive place for children ages 6 to 18 while their parents attend classes, with homework help, STEM activities, arts, recreation, mentorship, and more, all at no cost to eligible families.
"This will be extremely beneficial to our students, particularly those in our evening nursing cohort who are trying to balance family and school," said JALC President Dr. Kirk Overstreet.
By removing one more barrier to earning a degree, we`re helping student parents stay focused on achieving their educational goals while their children learn, grow, and thrive.
Because when students succeed, families and communities grow stronger. ๐
