I chose JALC to pursue my educational career in elementary education because of the small class sizes, campus activities, and affordability!
I chose JALC because I wanted to have a smoother transition into the college life. Being able to go to a community college lets you explore your career options at a cheaper price. Community college saved a ton of stress, money, and risk!
I chose JALC because of the amazing people and the strong sense of community. The smaller class sizes let me build close relationships with my classmates and professors. It’s also affordable and close to home, which helps me stay connected with family and friends.

For our final Community College Month student spotlight, meet Omar Naser of Carbondale. JALC was a place he chose twice, first to begin his college journey, and later to return with a clearer goal and new purpose.
Now preparing to transfer to Southern Illinois University Carbondale, Omarโs story is a reminder that growth can come from new direction, second chances, and believing in yourself.

Friday, we celebrated the graduates of our latest Highway Construction Careers Training Program (HCCTP) cohort at John A. Logan College. Their hard work, dedication, and commitment to building a better future led them to this moment, and we could not be more proud. ๐
This was a great group of individuals who showed up, put in the work, and are now ready to go out and make a difference in their communities and in the workforce.
