I chose JALC to pursue my educational career in elementary education because of the small class sizes, campus activities, and affordability!
I chose JALC because I wanted to have a smoother transition into the college life. Being able to go to a community college lets you explore your career options at a cheaper price. Community college saved a ton of stress, money, and risk!
I chose JALC because of the amazing people and the strong sense of community. The smaller class sizes let me build close relationships with my classmates and professors. It’s also affordable and close to home, which helps me stay connected with family and friends.
A new statewide report released by the Illinois Community College Board highlights the significant economic and social impact of John A. Logan College, underscoring the institution’s role in driving regional growth and student success.
Friday, we celebrated the graduates of our latest Highway Construction Careers Training Program (HCCTP) cohort at John A. Logan College. Their hard work, dedication, and commitment to building a better future led them to this moment, and we could not be more proud. 💙
This was a great group of individuals who showed up, put in the work, and are now ready to go out and make a difference in their communities and in the workforce.

Students in the John A. Logan College HVAC program recently helped complete a post-work blower door test in the F-Wing lobby after building envelope and insulation improvements were made through an Illinois Green Economy Network (IGEN) grant.
The results showed an approximate 80% reduction in air leakage, significantly improving energy efficiency, thermal performance, and occupant comfort.
This project gave students valuable real-world experience in energy conservation testing and building performance.
Learning by doing while making campus better. That’s the Logan way. 💙
