Job Type: Professional
John A. Logan College is looking for a full-time Occupational Health and Safety Trainer to coordinate and deliver occupational health and safety training sessions for workers, unions, government bodies, and community groups. The individual in this position will educate employees on their duties and obligations in maintaining a safe work environment by offering training on OSHA regulations and other relevant safety subjects.
Education & Experience Requirements
Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Experience: Five (5) years of experience working with occupational safety issues or equivalent. A college degree in Occupational Safety and Health, a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation may be substituted for two (2) years of experience.
Education Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Workforce Development, Occupational Safety, or a closely related field
Experience Preferred: More than five (5) years of experience working with occupational safety issues; experience teaching occupational health and safety topics, and / or an OSHA 501 Outreach Instructor Certification is desirable
