Fitness Coordinator

Description:

Under the supervision of the Director of Logan Fitness, the Fitness Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the fitness department programming and recreational and community use programs. Responsible for implementing all national, state, and county regulations with the operation of the fitness center, including sanitation, safety, security, and emergency procedures. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Management of the entire fitness desk staff, including recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising coordinate and oversee personal training program; provide facility supervision and respond to employee, patron, or equipment issues; provide additional and fill-in fitness desk coverage as needed; provide additional and fill-in lifeguard coverage as needed

Non-Essential Functions of the position

Other duties as assigned. Duties must be performed on the John A. Logan College campus or designated location.

 Education & Experience Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent with sixty (60) completed semester hours of a college education 

Experience: One (1) year of experience in fitness, aquatics, or sports 

Special Requirements: Maintain a lifeguard certification or obtain one within three (3) months of the position hire date 

Preferred Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, management experience, a lifeguard certification

 Hours: MWF 8:00 am – 4:30 pm; T/TH 5:30 am – 2:00 pm

 Salary range starts at: $40,000
