Business Education – AA Degree

This is a two-year associates degree program designed to meet transfer requirements for lower level (freshman and sophomore) courses at a four-year university for students majoring in Business Education.

Agriculture Education – AA Degree

This is a two-year associates degree program designed to meet the lower level (freshman and sophomore) course requirements of a four-year University for students majoring in Agriculture Education.

Art Education – AA Degree

This is a two-year associates degree program designed to meet the lower level (freshman and sophomore) course requirements of a four-year University for students majoring in Art Education. This degree transfers into a Teacher Education program at a four-year institution designed for students interested in teaching grades K-12.

Early Childhood Education (Career) – AAS Degree

Students who enroll in the Early Childhood Education program at John A. Logan College will be trained to provide care and education for children in public childcare settings to include maintaining a safe and healthy learning environment, providing experiences to promote physical, intellectual, social/emotional, and language/literacy development.

Early Childhood Education Family Childcare – Certificate

Currently the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) requires licensed “Group Day Care Home” providers to complete 30 hours of college credit. This allows the Group Day Care Home to care for up to 16 children with the support of a full-time and part-time assistant.

Early Childhood Education (Career) Infant Toddler – Certificate

Infant toddler care is in great demand, with few options for working parents. The Infant Toddler Certificate prepares individuals to provide high-quality childcare in a center-based program or home environment to the youngest and most vulnerable age group.

Early Childhood Education Gateways ECE Level 3 – Certificate

Students who complete this certificate program meet the requirements for the Gateways Level 3 ECE Credential.

Early Childhood Education Gateways ECE Level 2 – Certificate

Students who complete this certificate program meet the requirements for the Gateways Level 2 ECE Credential.

Early Childhood Education Director’s Credential – Certificate

The Illinois Director Credential prepares students to work more effectively as childcare advocates and administrators in early childhood programs.
