West Lobby at John A. Logan College Closing as Construction Progresses

Published on December 5, 2025

John A. Logan College officials announced that the West Lobby will close to all foot traffic beginning Friday, December 5, as part of the ongoing expansion project. A campus map highlighting restricted areas in red and alternative routes in green has been distributed to students, faculty, and staff.

With the closure, travel through the West Lobby will no longer be possible, and all pedestrian movement will be directed through the B and E Wings or via the waterfall courtyard, which connects campus pathways. College officials emphasized that all offices would remain in their current locations during this construction phase.

The restrooms and concession stand adjacent to the West Lobby will be inaccessible through that entrance; however, both will remain available to individuals exiting the gymnasium and will continue to operate as normal during athletic events, practices, and other activities.

The West Lobby closure marks another phase of the College’s major expansion project, designed to modernize the main campus entrance and improve student and visitor flow.
