John A. Logan College will host a ceremonial groundbreaking for its West Lobby Expansion project, Logan Hall, on Tuesday, November 25, at 5:30 p.m., immediately preceding the Board of Trustees meeting scheduled for 6 p.m.
The West Lobby Expansion, partially funded by the Illinois Capital Development Board, was initially slated to begin in early 2026. However, progress accelerated this week when general contractor Fager McGee Construction had an opening in its project schedule, and the Capital Development Board approved moving forward sooner than anticipated. As a result, demolition of the existing west entrance began on Monday.
College officials say the expedited timeline will not only move the project closer to completion, ahead of schedule, but also enhance accessibility and improve student-facing services once it is finished.
