The Foreigner Brings Laughter to the JALC Stage November 14–16

Published on October 29, 2025

John A. Logan College is proud to present The Foreigner, the acclaimed comedy by Larry Shue. Performances are scheduled November 14 through 16 in O’Neil Auditorium.

Set in a quiet fishing lodge in rural Georgia, The Foreigner follows Charlie, a painfully shy Englishman who pretends he can’t speak English while accompanying his friend Froggy on a trip. What begins as an innocent ruse quickly unravels into a string of hilarious misunderstandings and eye-opening encounters with the lodge’s quirky guests. Beneath the comedy lies a heartwarming exploration of identity, acceptance, and personal transformation.

“It’s a fun, funny show,” says Director Ryan Patrick. “Even though the script was written over 40 years ago, the themes and humor still feel fresh and relevant today. If you’re in need of a big laugh, this show has plenty to offer.”

The cast features local actors Cameron Lemon, Weston Westerman, Corryne Shaw, Kellee Estel, Derick Davis, Ayden Gill, and Bill Cochran.

There will be four performances:

General admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. Advance tickets may be reserved by calling 618-985-2828 ext. 8127 or purchased at the door on the day of the show.
