PHI THETA KAPPA Inducts 2022-2023 Members

The John A. Logan College Upsilon Pi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the academic honor society for community colleges, recently held an induction ceremony for new members on March 23, 2023.

Phi Theta Kappa was founded on four hallmarks: scholarship, leadership, fellowship, and service. Membership is by invitation only. To be eligible for membership, a student must complete a minimum of 12 hours of college coursework and earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. The following students were inducted:  Kenneth Eric Christensen, Murphysboro; Wendy Deutsch, Orlando, Florida; Cole Dumas, Herrin; Zena Ennis, Carterville; Sarah Jones, Marion; Denisse Pedroza Valadez, Carbondale; Dale Ann Sunny, Carbondale; Timothy Thomas Sunny, Carbondale; China Sutton, Cairo; Gavin Wilks, Campbell Hill; Revlyn Willis, West Frankfort; and Amber Zainitzer, Energy.

The chapter also recognized two College employees with honorary membership for their support of the chapter’s projects and excellent service to John A. Logan College students: Patrick Idzik, Instructor of Communications, and Stacy Buckingham, Vice President of Business Services and Chief Financial Officer.
