World Music and Food Day Held at John A. Logan College

Published on April 13, 2022

On Wednesday, the John A. Logan College Office of Diversity and Inclusion hosted World Music and Food Day. Over a dozen countries were represented with unique cuisine and music, and live music by local acts included Irish, Latin, and American Soul.

According to event organizer Toyin Fox, the theme for this year’s event was togetherness in hope, healing, love, nurturing, community and peace.

“We featured ethnic food and music of hope and healing from around the world,” said Fox. “We hope to boost our feelings of positivity as we strive to close the chapter of the COVID pandemic and move beyond it.”

In addition to food and music, information was provided to help assist food shortages in Madagascar and Ukraine.
