JALC to Hold Drawing for Two Full Tuition Waivers for Vaccinated Full-Time Students

Published on June 28, 2021

John A. Logan College President Dr. Kirk Overstreet announced plans for a drawing to be held in August for two full tuition waivers for the fall semester. Students enrolled full-time for the Fall semester who provide proof of full-vaccination (two Pfizer/Moderna, or Johnson and Johnson one shot) to the advisement office by August 17 are eligible.

“We are hoping this will help encourage our students to go out and get vaccinated. We want to make sure our area and region stay safe and that we can do all of the operations that we want and have our students back on campus,” said Overstreet.

In addition to the drawing, Overstreet announced that the College has plans to work with a local healthcare provider to host a vaccination clinic on campus for students during the fall registration period. According to Overstreet, the clinic will be available to any student that wishes to receive the vaccination.

Students will need to be registered for a minimum of 12 credit hours for the Fall 2021 semester to be eligible for the tuition waiver. Proof of vaccination can be given in the Advisement Office, C204, through August 17. Students will be entered into a database that will randomly select two students to receive the tuition waiver. The College will notify the winners on August 18. Registration for Fall 2021 is currently underway. Classes begin on August 11. For more information, email registration@jalc.edu.
