I chose JALC to pursue my educational career in elementary education because of the small class sizes, campus activities, and affordability!
I chose JALC because I wanted to have a smoother transition into the college life. Being able to go to a community college lets you explore your career options at a cheaper price. Community college saved a ton of stress, money, and risk!
I chose JALC because of the amazing people and the strong sense of community. The smaller class sizes let me build close relationships with my classmates and professors. It’s also affordable and close to home, which helps me stay connected with family and friends.
John A. Logan College has launched a new program with its in-district high schools and private schools to provide last-dollar scholarships to participating students.

β‘ Sparks were flying at the first ever SI Welding Wars Wednesday, where nearly two dozen high school students from 11 schools across southern Illinois came to campus to compete and showcase their welding skills.
Thank you to the local businesses who helped support the event and to Frankfort Community High School for partnering with us to make this competition possible.
A huge thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the inaugural SI Welding Wars a success. We loved seeing these future welders in action! π

The John A. Logan College Model Illinois Government Team has been named Outstanding Small Delegation at this yearβs competition.
The team also brought home three major individual awards:
π Outstanding First Year Delegate in the House: Troy Robinson
π Outstanding First Year Delegate in the Senate: Rachel McClerren
π Outstanding Original Legislation: Cort Hooven
Several students were also elected to leadership roles during the conference:

Additionally, Jaxson Buckman, Jordan Coates, Lucas Ratcliff, Troy Robinson, and Adam Wallace were elected committee spokespersons.
Troy Robinson also reached the competition maximum in individual points (3).
