Teaching and Learning Center

Training in the Conference Room

The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) serves the professional development needs of faculty and staff. The College provided funding to remodel part of the LRC office complex in support of a Title III grant which will provide $1.8 million over a five year period. The TLC houses a ten work station computer training smart classroom and an additional training room.

Training topics have ranged from Blackboard to in-class surveys and using smart classrooms and multimedia. Over the five years of the grant, the facility will provide expertise in instructional design, learning inventory assessment, evaluation methodology, multimedia development and computer applications. Open lab hours are available in addition to scheduled training.

The activities of Title III and the TLC will serve to transform the College into a learning-centered institution. Activities are centered on continuous improvement through support of institution-wide faculty and staff development initiatives.
