Will Keller of Agape Christian High School in Marion has been awarded a scholarship by the John A. Logan College basketball program.

As a skinny player from a small school, Keller was a member of the Logan team last year as a true freshman walk-on”. He played in 17 games and averaged 1.4 points and nearly one rebound per game.

“Will has worked extremely hard and has beefed up with a lot of work in the weight room,” said Logan coach Kyle Smithpeters. “Now 6-7, 220, he will be a valuable inside player this season.”

Keller knows his added size will be of benefit this season. “I really worked on my play in the post this summer and I think I am ready to battle for playing time,” he said. Keller has grown one inch and gained 20 pounds since joining the Volunteers.

Logan won the Great Rivers Athletic Conference title and ranked 22nd nationally with a 26-6 record last season. The Volunteers open the 2018-19 season on Nov. 1 at home against Motlow State College from Tennessee.
