CARTERVILLE — Something big is taking place at the end of January.

Along with what astronomers call a “super blue blood moon,” the John A. Logan College Foundation is hosting its 42nd Annual Italian Dinner on Jan. 31, an event organizers say you won’t want to miss.

“This is always a big event and a good, delicious time,” said Staci Shafer, executive director of the John A. Logan College Foundation.

The dinner takes places from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. Dinner tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students. Included with the dinner ticket purchase is free admission to the men’s and women’s basketball games.

JALC faces Shawnee Community College. It is also “Carterville Night” at the ballgame. Clubs and teams from the Carterville school system will be highlighted at halftime. “We look forward to seeing a lot of Lions fans at the College that night,” Shafer said of Carterville Night.

Dinner includes your choice of spaghetti or fettuccine alfredo, salad, breadsticks, a cookie, and drink. Carry outs are available.

All proceeds benefit scholarships for students.
