Volunteers Ranked 8th Nationally

The pre-season NJCAA national poll has been released and the John A. Logan College men's basketball team is ranked 8th nationally. In an earlier poll by the Sporting News, Logan had been ranked 12th.
“It shows that our program is well thought of nationally,” said Kyle Smithpeters. “Now we have to back up our high ranking by playing well and winning.”
Northwest Florida State is ranked first. Southwest Tennessee, the team that tied Logan in the Jamboree is ranked 7th, Mineral Area, a team Logan beat in the Jamboree, is ranked 20th , Vincennes is ranked 22nd and Harcum, a team Logan will play in the Vincennes tournament, received votes.
The Volunteers open the regular season on Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m., hosting the Kentucky Wesleyan JV team. The Vols play the Bethel JV Wildcats on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 7 p.m.
