Baby, It's Cold Outside: Beware the "Frigid Four" When Competing Outdoors

CARTERVILLE - Winter is here, but that doesn’t mean outdoor activities need to come to a halt. The National Athletic Trainers Association has provided this handout, which highlights four common environmental cold injuries: hypothermia, frostbite, chilblain (trench foot) and immersion foot. Take a look at the handout to learn about safety precautions you can take when competing during cold, wet and windy weather and signs to watch for if you need help.
