EVANSVILLE, IND. - The John A. Logan College women's golf team opened its fall schedule with a ninth-place finish at the Screamin' Eagles Fall Invitational Sunday and Monday as hosted by the University of Southern Indiana.
The Vols carded rounds of 351 each day. Top individual player was sophomore Adrian Brown of Carterville. Brown placed 10th overall with a 36-hole total of 160 (81, 79).
Sophomore Reagan Keepes of Mount Carmel had the team's second best score at 176 (86, 90). Freshman Brittany Reynolds of Metropolis checked in at 183 (88, 95). Freshman Mariah Bushue followed at 186 (96, 90) and freshman Madison Bushue added a 197 (105, 92).
Sophomore Payton Choate's score was counted as an individual and not toward the team score, which was unfortunate as she turned in rounds of 91 and 93 or 184.
"For a first tournament, I thought the girls played pretty well," said Vols head coach Bill Glenn. "There is plenty of room for improvement, though. We are more than capable of shooting in the 330s or even the 320s."
