CARTERVILLE – John A. Logan College sophomore standout post player Alison Webb accepted a scholarship offer Monday to play basketball at Lindenwood-Belleville University this fall.

A Goreville product, Webb led the Volunteers in scoring (20.4 points); free-throw shooting (81.6); and rebounding (9.1) this past season.

“I’ve learned a lot here at Logan these two years and am excited to see what I can do at the next level,” Webb said. “I’ve always loved playing the game and hope I can help Lindenwood-Belleville win games next season.”

Webb said she chose the Belleville campus because it’s close to home and will give her the opportunity to contribute immediately.

“I’m definitely going to miss the friends I have made here at Logan. It’s been a wonderful experience for me.”

Vols head coach Amanda Shelby said she is confident Webb will put up good numbers at the four-year school.

“I think so. I’m very happy for her,” Shelby said. “Alison should be able to carry over the skills she showed with us at the NAIA Division I level. She will also get the chance to play some on the perimeter, which she really likes. At 6-foot, it will be hard for someone to guard her outside.”

Lindenwood-Belleville head coach Jeff Reis said he is excited about the signing.

“Alison is going to be a great player for us,” he said. “I look forward to having her a part of our program. She can score, she can rebound. She should be able to step right in and contribute for us. With three of our four top scorers returning, and now with the addition of Alison, I expect us to be pretty good next season.”
