CARTERVILLE - “Scarborough Fair: A Simon & Garfunkel Experience Featuring the Guthrie Brothers” will bring the classic sounds of the famous folk rock duo to John A. Logan College.  The tribute concert, which features songs, stories, and trivia, will be held on Thursday, March 19 at 7 p.m. in O’Neil Auditorium.

Adrienne Barkley Giffin, director of student activities and cultural events at Logan, invited the brothers to perform at the college.

“I saw them perform a showcase at a conference I attended, and I was really impressed,” Giffin said. “They harmonized well together and performed really well.  They not only did a great job of presenting the music, but they also shared some background behind each song, telling what was going on at the time both with the group, Simon & Garfunkel, as well as in society.”

Giffin believes the concert is for people of all ages.

“Simon & Garfunkel’s music is wonderful and transcends generations,” Giffin said.  “The Guthrie Brothers do an excellent job showcasing their music, and they perform an entertaining show that everyone will enjoy.”
