CARTERVILLE - A night of music will create an unforgettable Parisian experience as The Hot Club of San Francisco and French vocalist Isabelle Fontaine team up for “Meet Me in Paris.”  This concert of love songs and gypsy jazz made famous in Paris in the 1920s and ‘30s will be held at John A. Logan College on Friday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. in O’Neil Auditorium.  Tickets for the show are $15 for general admission and $10 for JALC students with a valid JALC ID.

Adrienne Barkley Giffin, director of student activities and cultural events at Logan, invited the group to perform at the college.

“I saw this group at a performing arts conference I attended,” Giffin said.  “I was excited to have the opportunity to see their showcase because I’d heard their music before.  It often pops up on my Pandora jazz station and I give a “thumbs up” to every one of their songs.”

Giffin is hoping for a good turnout for the show.

“This style of music and the way this group performs it is vibrant, fun, and soulful,” Giffin said.  “I can’t wait for everyone to come to the show and be transported to 1920s Paris.”
