CARTERVILLE – John A. Logan College student Adam Dutton of West Frankfort is the recipient of a $250 scholarship, courtesy of the Leathernecks motorcycle club in Southern Illinois.
The award is presented annually to a former United States Marine, who is enrolled in college classes. Dutton was one of four qualified candidates for the scholarship, according to Stacy Holloway, Director of Scholarships and Alumni Services at the college.
Making the official presentation to Dutton were three members of the club: Rick Counts of Murphysboro, David Stucker of Energy and Josh Lipe of Carbondale. The club routinely volunteers at events held at the Anna Veterans’ Home, VA Medical Center in Marion, and Marine Corps League’s Toys for Tots program.
