Social Services Coordinator

Job Type: Professional

  • Focus on promoting student success through providing early support to nursing and allied health students. The Social Services Coordinator will monitor nursing and allied health students and develop plans to facilitate referrals to internal and external campus resources; assist with student recruitment; provide outreach to community employers and academic settings; and assist with initial and ongoing grant reporting and data collection
  • Report directly to the PATH Grant Manager
  • Develop and maintain internal and external resources and relationships to assist with student success
  • Provide coordination and outreach of support services
  • Conduct initial and ongoing contact with students to assess needs for appropriate referrals
  • Record, document and track individual case treatment and or academic success plans
  • Provide crisis intervention
  • Adhere to grant compliance protocols
  • Work collaboratively with PATH team members, Allied Health and Nursing faculty, and Director of Nursing for student success
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Duties must be performed on John A. Logan College campus or designated location.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Social Work
  • Two years of professional social work experience
  • Excellent time management, organizational and communication skills
  • Work collaboratively as a team member
  • Ability to take direction
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Ability to work with diverse populations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Social Work with Licensed Social Worker or Master’s of Social Work
  • Three years or greater professional social work experience
  • Familiarity with community college setting

Hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday (some evenings and weekends will be required) 

Salary range starts at: $40,000
