Payroll Manager

Job Type: Professional

Description:
  • Daily supervision of two Payroll Accounting Clerks
  • Communicate with employees and outside agencies concerning payroll and deduction issues
  • Oversee and coordinate payroll processing and payroll controls
  • Prepare and process federal and state tax deposits
  • Process the submission of the College’s direct deposit file
  • Oversee the College’s automated Time and Attendance system
  • Coordinate with the instructional division on faculty payroll submissions
  • Prepare quarterly and annual reporting related to payroll activities, including 941’s, unemployment, and W-2’s
  • Monthly balancing of payroll and deduction related accounts
  • Perform year-end closeout procedures and prepare audit work papers for payroll area
  • Perform reporting and remittances to the College’s insurance carriers, pension system, and 403(b)plan
  • Assist in development of College budget in relation to salaries and benefits
  • Monitor compliance with labor union contracts and College policies
  • Assist in preparation of ICCB reports related to salary and benefits
  • Respond to various employment related surveys
  • Perform salary and benefit projections/analysis
  • Calculate and process insurance reimbursement to College retirees
  • Provide financial analysis in various areas as needed
  • Serve on College committees as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • One year of acceptable accounting experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of acceptable payroll and supervisory experience

Hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday (occasional evenings and weekends)

Salary range starts at: $55,000
