Manager of Student Transitions (Internal)

Description:

The Manager of Student Transitions reports to the Director of Enrollment Management. This position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing programs related to the first-year experience, college and career pathways, student retention, and transfer.

Education & Experience Requirements

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred

Experience:  Three years of relevant work experience

Experience Preferred: relevant work experience in higher education, proficiency with the College’s ERP system (J1), experience with curriculum and program development for college students, and proficiency with the College’s LMS (Desire2Learn).

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Identify students needing outreach as part of the College’s Strategic Enrollment Management Plan and develop a retention communication plan for student retention initiatives based on factors such as attendance, midterm grades, failure of course prerequisites, etc.
  • Develop and maintain College and Career Pathways that incorporate all JALC programs and are individualized for each in-district high school and their unique dual credit offerings
  • Assist the Director of Enrollment Management with the Student Affairs ERP management by serving as the liaison in the implementation and maintenance of J1 communication, the retention module, and the early alert program
  • Work collaboratively with IER and IT to develop reports, data sets, and communication strategies needed throughout the Student Affairs division
  • Maintain the ORI 100 curriculum, schedule, and staff ORI 100 course offerings, and train and mentor ORI 100 instructors
  • Partner with Academic Affairs to support articulation agreement initiatives and communicate articulation information to the campus community
  • Oversee the College’s transfer programming, including but not limited to Transfer Week, transfer information within Academic Advisement, 4-year institution table visits at JALC, visits to 4-year institutions for staff and/or students, the Transfer Fair, and transfer workshops
  • Participate in presentations in district schools, recruitment events, and Student Life programming
  • Support the college’s overall enrollment goals by implementing strategies that meet the needs of students and comply with the College’s internal policies and procedures to fulfill objectives, meet timelines, and complete outreach for targeted student populations
  • Work collaboratively with the Director of Enrollment Management to implement onboarding programming, including but not limited to New Student Orientation Days, Fall Kickoff Days, and Welcome Week

Non-Essential Functions of the Position

  • Other duties as assigned. Duties must be performed on the John A. Logan College campus or designated location
