Agriculture Instructor (Fall 2018)

Full-Time, Tenure-Track Faculty
Faculty are covered under a 9-month contract period (August through May) and are required to teach a minimum of 15 credit hours and serve eight office hours per week for student consultation in fall and spring semesters. Additional teaching opportunities with compensation may be available in the summer semester.
The candidate will be responsible for developing and gaining state approval for a new agriculture program within the career and technical education division. Following approval, the individual assumes primary responsibility for the agriculture program, including teaching courses and ensuring program success. Courses within the program include, but are not limited to, Introduction to Agriculture, Agriculture Economics, Crop Science, Animal Science, and Soil Science. Instructional responsibilities also include: continued course development to maintain program currency, participation in assessment of student outcomes, conducting program review, development of instructional resources, including those for online learning. Additionally, the successful candidate will be expected to post and maintain office hours, engage in professional development, recruit students, participate fully in departmental duties, institutional committees, and activities as assigned. The candidate is also expected to represent the College credibly with respect to any of its activities, and observe, support, and enforce the regulations, policies, and programs of the College.Qualifications
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Science, Agriculture Education, or related field; three years of work experience within the agriculture industry; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications: Post-secondary teaching experience, especially at a community college; experience in the use of instructional technology with online delivery and development; curriculum development; willingness to teach a variety of agriculture courses.Salary
Starting salary is determined by educational level and teaching experience as per contract salary schedule, and opportunities exist for overload and summer teaching.Benefits
