SUMMER ACADEMIC AFFAIRS Secretarial. Receptionist's duties, including but not limited to, answering phones, taking messages, greeting visitors, students and staff; posting class cancellation notices; filing, copying, distribution of paperwork; word processing on computer; on-campus deliveries; dealing with confidential matters; making coffee/ tea; general housekeeping duties (dusting, washing dishes, minor cleaning). MUST HAVE A MIDDAY BLOCK AVAILABILITY.
CHEC CHEC Fitness Center. Clerical responsibilities such as assisting in answering the phone, entering data into computer, answering questions about the Fitness Center, monitoring patrons to ensure proper registration, updating bulletin board information, and running errands to and from main campus offices. Maintaining and refilling all sani-wipe stations as needed. Keeping inventory for re-ordering purposes. Assists custodians in gym cleaning. Assists in keeping the facility neat on a daily basis. Making minor repairs to the weight training machines and benches as needed. Responds in case of emergencies. Must be CPR/AED/First Aid certified. FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE.
CAMPUS SUPPORT SERVICES Office Support/Mail Distribution. Making copies, filling supply requests, assisting with supply room, distributing incoming mail to mailboxes, answering phones, assisting copy clerk with distributions, cutting, folding, inventory, sending, logging, and distributing faxes to the appropriate person, daily delivery of mail to college offices. Process bulk mailings as needed, daily processing of mail using postage equipment, occassional delivery of mailings and/or certified mail to local post office in Carterville. This position requires daily interaction between faculty, staff, and students. Must have own transportation. Must be able to lift and deliver by dolly at least one case of copy paper. Other duties as assigned.
CAREER SERVICES Secretarial. Typing, filing, keep job list updated, put job list on bulletin boards on campus, copying, making Kuder and resume appointments, assisting students, reception, phones and running errands. MUST BE FEDERAL WORK STUDY.
FINANCIAL AID Clerical. Typing, Filing, making new files, filling bins with Financial Aid paperwork and information, assisting students at the computer stations who are completing FAFSAS. Answer telephones, process mail, check financial aid rosters, copying, scanning, shredding, assembling financial aid packets, inventory, assessments and covering front desk during lunch hours. Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE. MUST BE FEDERAL WORK STUDY ELIGIBLE.
GROUNDS Grounds Worker. General grounds maintenance of the campus grounds, parking lots, sidewalks, etc. Work includes recycling materials, cleaning parking lots, emptying garbage cans, lawn mowing, snow removal, weeding, landscape maintenance and installation, and other duties as required by the grounds maintenance coordinator. Must have a valid driver's license. FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY I.T. Lab Assistant. Must be dependable; trustworthy; well organized; have a high attention to detail and able to communicate effectively with others. This position requires a student who can work independently, without direct supervision and have a basic knowledge of computers. Experience with multimedia equipment, such as LCD projectors, document cameras, DVD players, audio systems are preferred, but not required. Specific duties include, but not limited to: Managing and supervising the C238 Open Access Computer Lab environment. Maintaining lab usage records and monitoring paper/toner usage. Making sure computing lab environment is clean, safe and operating in a normal manner. Provide assistance with I.T. staff as needed. FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE.
LEARNING LAB Learning Lab Assistant. Monitor test taking for lecture courses and online courses. Responsible for test received and picked up by the responsible faculty. Responsible for papers received and picked up by the students. They distribute DVDs, packet materials, and other course materials assigned by instructors. Data must be entered on the computer to maintain statistics. Filing, record keeping, sorting and storing of paperwork, DVDs, instructional objects and materials is essential. HOURS VARY. MUST BE FEDERAL WORK STUDY.
LIBRARY Shelver. Shelve, shelf read, organize, and help in the processing of books, magazines and other library materials. Assisting staff in handing out prints and collecting money from patrons. Filling copy machines and printers, cleaning and sanitizing computers, and cleaning shelves and work areas. Pick up library materials from the book drops, and retrieving materials from around the library. Calling patrons to notify them of items that have arrived through interlibrary loan. Working on special projects such as the archive, and other duties as assigned. FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE. MUST BE FEDERAL WORK STUDY ELIGIBLE.
MULTIMEDIA LAB Multimedia Lab Assistant. Monitor activities in the Student Multimedia Lab, assist students or faculty with using computers, computer programs, and multimedia hardware and software. Maintain computers in good working condition. Keep lab clean and orderly. HOURS VARY. MUST BE FEDERAL WORK STUDY.
STUDENT SUCCESS CENTER Office Assistant. This position answers the office telephone and schedules appointments for Disability Support Services, TRiO and Tutoring Center staff. Also provides assistance for DDS program by preparing letters for students, assists note takers and tutors with documentation and enters tutoring information into database. This position is responsible for copying and sending notes for students utilizing note taker services. They also schedule and prepare testing rooms and scan tests for students receiving this service. This position also schedules appointments for test readers and scribes. Assistance is provided to staff of the Student Success Center by copying materials, preparing packets, and providing information to students, as well as other duties related to special programs and events. FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE.
PRESIDENT'S OFFICE Secretarial. Make and distribute copies for PresidentÂ’s Office and Board of Trustees staff. Assist with faxes; opening mail; and obtaining supplies for office from stockroom. Cover phones for the PresidentÂ’s Office and, occasionally, for all the Administrative Building offices as needed. Light keyboarding (i.e., file folder labels, forms). Assist with errands associated with various special events (i.e., annual Christmas luncheon, assembling booklets for special meetings, etc.). Assist other offices in the Administration Building with duties similar to the above on an as needed basis. Other duties as assigned. FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE.
TERM FACULTY Secretarial. The immediate need will begin May 14, 2018 and will run Monday-Thursday from 12:30-4:30pm with the potential of continued service. Strong communication skills are required and duties will include greeting and assisting Term Faculty, answering phone calls, making phone calls, running errands on campus, posting class cancellations, typing, data entry, working with spreadsheets, filing, copying, assisting with mailings, stocking supplies, using the TimeClock managing system, and various duties as assigned/needed.
FALL STUDENT ACTIVITIES Clerical/reception and occasional light physical work. General clerical duties including answering phone, photocopying, on-campus errands, and computer work (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet browser, scheduling software, and other programs). Reception duties at Information Desk employing good customer service skills in-person and over the phone. Assist with club information and activities and club deposits including handling cash and checks. Box office duties including processing ticket orders in-person and over the phone, handling credit card information, checks, and cash and ushering duties, which excludes student workers from being cast in shows. Assist with student activities programming, special events, and museum exhibits. Other duties as assigned by Director.
