Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, John A. Logan College officials have made the decision to cancel the 45th Annual Autumnfest Arts and Crafts show. The event was scheduled to take place at the College’s Carterville campus on November 14 and 15.
John A. Logan College President Dr. Ron House stated that the decision was based on the College’s top priority of providing a safe environment for all that visit the campus.
“We have carefully followed the Illinois Community College Board’s Guidance for the Return to Campus for Illinois Community Colleges, the Governor’s Restore Illinois Plan, as well as guidance by the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control,” said House. “Unfortunately, as was the case with Hunting and Fishing Days, there are just too many concerns about having a large multi-day event on campus.”
The annual event features over 120 vendors with holiday-themed items and food with free parking and admission. The popular two-day event has long been considered a kickoff to the holiday shopping season. The 2021 event is tentatively scheduled for November 13 and 14.
