ROTC

ARMY ROTC

The Southern Illinois University Carbondale Army ROTC program has an agreement with John A. Logan Community College. A student can enroll and fully participate in the ROTC program at SIUC while attending John A Logan for the first two years. Based on the Illinois State guidelines (listed below), SIUC Army ROTC can award up to three Illinois State Tuition Waivers to eligible students from John A. Logan that meet these criteria.

Students must apply every semester. The State of Illinois mandates Army ROTC award 10 waivers per Military Science class. Applications are distributed the first week of each semester and waivers are awarded by mid-semester. If awarded, the recipient must meet the basic requirements to maintain the tuition waiver for that semester.

AIR FORCE ROTC

The Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps’ (AFROTC) mission is to produce leaders for the Air Force. AFROTC is a military training program designed to give well-qualified men and women the opportunity to train for leadership positions as officers in the Air Force while completing a college degree.

What does this mean to you? It means:

  • The chance to earn a college degree while working toward becoming an officer in the United States Air Force
