AIR FORCE ROTC
The Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps’ (AFROTC) mission is to produce leaders for the Air Force. AFROTC is a military training program designed to give well-qualified men and women the opportunity to train for leadership positions as officers in the Air Force while completing a college degree.
What does this mean to you? It means:
- The opportunity to get the money you need for college
- Making the most out of your college experience and your life
- The chance to earn a college degree while working toward becoming an officer in the United States Air Force
- The chance to experience once-in-a-lifetime opportunities
But know it will not be easy. Air Force ROTC provides you with a challenging program to hone your time management, physical fitness and analytical skills – and helps you push yourself to achieve your goals.
But for those who are up to the challenge, the rewards last a lifetime.
The Southern Illinois University Carbondale Air Force ROTC program has an agreement with John A. Logan Community College. A student can enroll and fully participate in the ROTC program at SIUC while attending John A Logan for the first two years. Based on the Illinois State guidelines, SIUC Air Force ROTC can award up to three Illinois State Tuition Waivers to eligible students from John A. Logan that meet these criteria.
