Jennifer Rose’s Biography

Jennifer “Jenn” Rose serves as a counselor and academic advisor for the Student Success Center. She recruits and mentors TRiO students, provides crisis and career counseling, conducts academic workshops, and assists with TRiO grant activities.

Born and raised in central Illinois, Jenn graduated from Metamora High School. She enlisted in the U.S. Army and served nearly eight years on active duty and in the reserves, achieving the rank of specialist promotable. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in sociology and women’s studies from Illinois State University and earned a master’s degree in education through the Educational Psychology program at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. She is an associate marriage and family therapist and a licensed professional counselor.

Jenn lives in Carbondale and has a dog and three cats. She has many hobbies and enjoys reading, outdoor activities, gardening, and politics.
