Building Partnerships for Emergency Preparedness

John A. Logan College, Southern Illinois University Carbondale and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville partnered up to host a workshop about "Service Learning and Emergency Preparedness" on June 12, 2007 which had about 50 participants. Suzanne Kutter-Siburt, the Assistant Director of leadership Development at SIUE led the workshop which included teachers, community leaders, and emergency preparedness workers. Mythili Rundlblad o SIUC and Mary O'hara of John A. Logan College helped. It was a great opportunity for those in the southern region of Illinois to network and maintain emergency preparedness. As always, attending conferences and workshops always helps ILCC members bring back more insight on service-learning and civic engagement to maintain the thread that connects.
