Logan Softball Team Holding Walk-A-Thon to Benefit
Coach Kill Cancer Fund

The John A. Logan College softball team will kick off its spring practice on Wednesday, January 16, with a walk-a-thon fundraiser. The Lady Vols have joined forces with the Coach Kill Cancer Fund to raise money for people in southern Illinois whose lives have been affected by a diagnosis of cancer.

"We all have friends or relatives or know someone who has been touched by this terrible disease," said Angie Jilek, assistant softball coach at Logan. "I've wanted to do something for a long time, and with Krystal Kill on our team, it was a natural fit for us to work with the Coach Kill Cancer Fund. Our softball team is like a family at Logan, and we know this cause is very near and dear to Krystal. Her teammates were eager to get involved and show their support."

Kill is very appreciative of her team's efforts regarding the walk-a-thon.

"It really means a lot to me that our softball team has come together on this cause," Kill said. "More importantly, this is about how much our efforts will mean to the people we are helping in southern Illinois."
