The John A. Logan College baseball team went 33-19 this spring and reached the championship game of the Region 24 Tournament. Three Volunteers received post-season recognition for their play. Tim Dunn, a sophomore from Bardwell, Kentucky, was named an NJCAA All-American. An all-conference performer, he was voted the Great Rivers Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year. He was also chosen the Region 24 Player of the Year and made the All-Northern District team. He struck out 48 batters this season, compiling a record of 12-0 and had a stellar ERA of 1.26.
Sophomore outfielder Adam Browett of Troy, Missouri, batted .341 for the Volunteers with 58 hits, 40 runs scored, and 27 RBI to garner all-conference and All-Region 24 honors.
Adam Gliebe, a freshman shortstop from Ballwin, Missouri, was an All-GRAC selection. With a batting average of .358, he led the Vols with 63 hits, including five home runs, 11 doubles, and 39 RBI.
“I’m extremely happy that these young men were rewarded for their efforts,” said Jerry Halstead, head coach of the Volunteers. “Tim Dunn was just sensational all season and both Adam Gliebe and Adam Browett were very consistent, productive players day in and day out.”
