John A. Logan College officials announced Wednesday that the College has its largest ever fall enrollment of 6,061 up from 5,783 a year ago. Credit hours are also at an all-time high at 59,787 up from last year's total of 55,920. The full-time enrollment of 3,311 is also a fall semester record. Both enrollment and credit hours are up five percent.
In the fall of 2006, President Mees kicked off the 50 at 40 campaign, an aggressive marketing and recruiting effort that established the goal of having 50 percent of the College's in-district high schools students enrolled during the College's 40th anniversary year. In less than a year, the College has not only met but exceeded that goal with 55 percent of the class of 2007 having taken classes at John A. Logan College. According to President Mees, the growth is expected to continue "With the advancement of online courses, block scheduling, and the new building project that is going to allow us to offer more classes at peak times, we feel that the College will now have the room to continue this unprecedented growth."
