Linda Miller of Carbondale, an art student at John A. Logan College, and Dan Yancy of Makanda, a construction management student, look over a dollhouse the college is donating to the Boys & Girls Club of Carbondale. The college's drafting program drew up the plans for the dollhouse and purchased the materials to build it. Yancy, a retired union carpenter, who returned to college to obtain an associate's degree in construction management, volunteered to build the dollhouse. He said he used finished oak plywood in the construction. Miller was one of a number of art students who volunteered to paint the dollhouse. On Wednesday, Randy Osborn, executive director of the Boys & Girls Club, accepted the donation. He said there are a number of six to 12 year old girls at the Boys & Girls Club who are excited about the dollhouse's arrival.
